Ron Popolizio is currently the President and CEO of Microbest, Inc., a contract manufacturing company located in Waterbury, CT. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Central Connecticut State University, is a Certified Public Accountant and has earned six licenses with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Ron started his career working for Coopers and Lybrand in their emerging business unit. Later, Ron joined two boutique investment banking firms, the later as a principal, specializing in start-up to middle market sized companies. The first firm had an approach to purchasing established companies directly from owners who were ready to retire. Ron would then get involved with running the operations of the company while transitioning in new management. Companies acquired were in the manufacturing, communications, wholesale and publishing industries.

Later in Ron’s career, Ron became a principal in another investment banking firm. This firm specialized in new green technologies. Some of the companies Ron was involved with include a high efficiency heat pump used to heat and cool residential homes. This system runs on electricity, omitting zero carbon and could heat homes when temperatures reached minus 30 degrees. Another project involved a wind farm in Montana where wind would power turbines feeding clean electric energy to California. Another interesting project was when Ron and his Partners purchased a paper mill then converted it to produce pulp like it had before, but working with the University of Maine, devised a method to produce ethanol as a byproduct.

In between and after these activities, Ron has been either the CEO or CFO of several companies. Some services performed by these companies include contract manufacturing in the aerospace, small arms, medical, automotive, and business machine industries. All in all, Ron has worked directly with 23 companies having equity interest in 14.

In his spare time, Ron enjoys classic muscle cars from the Chrysler Corporation. He currently owns eight classic muscle cars including a Hemi Charger, Hemi GTX, 440 Six Pack Cuda, a T/A Challenger and others. Ron has recently acquired an 11,000 square foot facility to work on and show these cars.

Ron resides in Farmington Connecticut with his beautiful wife Karen and lovely daughter Sarah.
