Industry Lifetime Achievement Awards

The Manufacturing Ledger honors those who have earned a Lifetime Achievement Award from national industry associations that support the manufacturing community. Thanks to the following associations for collaborating with the American Precision Museum to celebrate the people and progress of machine tools and manufacturing in this exhibit. Profiles of Lifetime Achievement Award recipients from these associations are highlighted and searchable within the Manufacturing Ledger.

Machine Tool Hall of Fame

The Machine Tool Hall of Fame is a joint effort of the American Precision Museum and The Association for Manufacturing Technology. The Machine Tool Hall of Fame project began in 1982 and all nominees were judged for their inventions, their innovative use of others’ inventions, or their leadership of a machine-oriented group.

AMT's Albert W. Moore Leadership Award

Introduced in 2003, the Albert W. Moore AMT Leadership Award, honors individuals who went above and beyond in their contributions and service to the industry, as well as to AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology members. This prestigious award is presented to an AMT member who has demonstrated exceptional dedication, innovative ideas, and outstanding guidance for the membership. The individual also shows exemplified commitment to professional development, unwavering support of AMT’s mission, and a drive to advance the entire manufacturing technology industry. 

The Award is named after Albert W. Moore, former Chairman of AMT from 1987 - 1988 during his tenure as President of Gleason Corporation and former President of AMT from 1989 – 1998 and 2002 – 2003.

PMPA's Frank T. McGinnis Merit Award

The Merit Award is the Association’s highest award, conferred only upon recommendation of the Executive Committee. First presented in 1943, the Merit Award recognizes the recipient’s contributions and continued service for the benefit of the Association and the Industry above and beyond the duties of any appointed or elected Association office. Presented only when an individual has clearly met the requirements, the award is not given every year. Eligibility for the PMPA Merit Award extends to any employee of any member company.

In recognition of Frank T. McGinnis who served the Association as its Executive Vice President from 1952 to 1992, the Executive Committee in 1993 renamed the Merit Award the Frank T. McGinnis Merit Award.

NTMA's Honor Award

NTMA's Honor Award is given to those members who demonstrate continuing meritorious service and dedication to the industry and/or the Association. Traditionally rendered for the longevity of service and/or dedication, as opposed to a single act or service in a short-time industry or Association position.
